In 2017, our founder Yinn started Gung with one objective:
“To empower women to be confident in their own identity, no matter what anyone says”.
This is because there’s a lot of pressure on women to conform to society’s expectations.
For example, a new mom returning to work might appear to prioritize her career over family, while choosing to stay at home could be seen as someone who can’t contribute to the household financially.
It’s a lose-lose situation.
So what we want is to help every women build their own identity and be proud of it.
Once they put on our jewellery, they are able to express themselves and build their confidence.

Yinn Ooi founded the brand in 2017 with a passion to create jewellery that can represent individuality. Her interior architecture background gave her a deep understanding of form and structure which she now incorporates into her designs.

Gung comes from the word “宫” in Mandarin and “궁” in Korean, both meaning ‘Palace’.
Why palace?
Historically jewellery belonged only to royalty, those who lived in palaces.
And we want to bring jewellery to everyone, no matter what your background is.
We want to make you feel like You’re part of royalty.
Following “our why”, we want to make our jewellery accessible to every women out there.
Not only that, we also want our jewellery to last forever, so they can wear it for as long as they want.
In order to make it accessible + last forever, we use stainless steel with PVD coating for our pieces.
Therefore, using our materials, Gung has:
